How does colour affect buying decisions?

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009

Colour is an important factor when choosing a design element, whether it’s used on a logo design, web design as a whole, or even a simple ‘call to action’ button on a web site. Colour sends subliminal messages to people and the majority of us react the same to some colors. Graphic designers are aware of this and make the best possible use of colour to assist in creating actions.

Illustrator in Cornwall

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

8836133D-22E6-474E-9274-906725A3F151.jpgAnother blatant plug for a good friend of mine, known only as ‘Cosmic‘ since I met him many, many years ago.

Cosmic is a talented illustrator based in Cornwall, trading under the name of ‘Cosmic Images’. He is available for hire, or you can buy his illustrations at his online shop.

Cosmic’s illustrations remind me of Keith Haring’s work in the late ’80s, but with more humour.

He is currently living and working on a craggy Cornish cliff. Cosmic was a civil engineer and a marketing manager in former careers. He decided to dedicate his life to ‘art’ during a Christmas day skydive over the Mediterranean sea in 1998, and after selling portraits and murals and impersonating Mick Jagger for two years found employment in Cornwall designing signs, then advertising, then hospitality interiors, CAD interiors, corporate identity packages, furniture design, design for print and clothing. A true all round creative guy ;0)
